APPLICATION:
Lifting monitors from conveyors and putting into packing cartons.

The Problem:
Lifting, placing packaging material around monitors, and placing into cartons without causing injury and damage to product. It was difficult to both hold the monitors and place the foam inserts around the product to place into cartons. Injuries and damaged product were problems.

Alternatives:
The product could be lifted with an air balancer and a ceiling mounted crane, or continued manual lifting.

System Chosen:
VH120 (95Lb. Capacity) equipped with a 3.5” x 9.25” suction pad and an ESJSB10-10-250 Free Standing Jib Crane with a 10’ Hub, 10’ Boom length and a 250 Lb. Capacity. This system allowed the operator to grasp, lift and hold the product while the packaging process took place. All equipment was manufactured by Ergonomic Handling Systems.The components of the system were specifically engineered to provide the most efficient work handling method. The single source responsibility eliminates the mixing of various manufacturers components and the resultant start-up problems.

Why This System Was Selected:
The area of operation had no access to compressed air and there were overhead conveyors which would interfere with a ceiling mounted crane.
